They decided to make a beef roast with vegetables in it. The recipe and directions are below.
Information to know about this recipe
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 35 Minutes
Total Time: 55 Minutes
This makes: 3-4 Servings
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 Tsp Thyme
2/3 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2-3 Carrots
3 Celery Stalks
1 Cup Chopped Onion
2 Medium Potatoes
1-1.5 lbs Beef Roast
Instructions
1. Press the 'Saute' button on your Instant Pot Duo. Set the timer for 15 minutes. Add the olive oil, and allow it to heat.
2. While the oil preheats, combine all of the spices in a small bowl: garlic powder, pepper, salt, and thyme. Press this spice mixture on both sides of the chuck roast, pressing it into all surfaces of the beef. Use all of the spice mixture.
3. Once the olive oil is hot, add the beef and sear it on each side for about 5-7 minutes. Remove beef from the pot.
4. Combine the water and Worcestershire sauce. Add the liquid, then place the beef back into the pot (The liquid won't cover the beef completely.).
5. Press ‘Cancel’ to turn off the 'Saute' function. Press the 'Pressure Cook' button, make sure it's set to 'High', and set the timer to 35 minutes. Make sure the 'Keep Warm' function is off.
6. Add the vegetables (onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes) around and on top of the beef. Place the lid on the Instant Pot, and turn the valve to 'Sealing.'
7. The Instant Pot will beep. Once it reaches full pressure, the 35-minute timer will begin to count down.
8. After the timer is up, allow the pot to complete a natural pressure release. The pressure valve will drop down when all of the pressure has left the pot.
9. Remove the beef from the pot, slice and serve with the vegetables.
This looks really good and easy to make.
