Are you looking for a last minute Mother's Day gift?

One of my favorite things to go in our kitchen and always has been is a good crockpot. I have several, but the one kind I have been wanting for a while now is this one called the 6 Qt Cook & Carry Programmable Slow Cooker, and it's amazing so far! I loved the color red, so I got that one instead of stainless steel color.

I decided to make a pork roast in my new slow cooker that we took to church on Sunday for our potluck lunch with everyone. And it was delicious and turned out perfect. With this 6 Qt slow cooker, I decided to cut the 6 lb roast in half and then cut it into large chunks to cook it and then added canned vegetables all around it, as well as diced tomatoes and potatoes.

What you'll need:
- 3 lb pork roast
- Vegetables (I used 2 cans of corn, 3 cans of green beans, 1 can of peas, 1 can diced tomatoes, 6 diced potatoes, and 3 cans of carrots)
- 2 - 3 cups of water

How to cook this roast in the programmable slow cooker:
- Place the roast in the slow cooker.
- Program the slow cooker to be on high and set for 3 hours
- Put the veggies all around the roast and add the water
- Stir after 2 hours
- After 3 hours, place the setting on low and set for 10 hours
- Turn off after done cooking and enjoy!!

We did our roast for so long because I cooked it in there overnight, so it was still hot when we left for church. You could likely just put it on high for 5 hours and stir it every 30 - 45 minutes and be fine too.

I love how well the cook and carry portion of this slow cooker work so well. It didn't tip at all on our ride to church or home. It locks into place on the sides. But, side note - DO NOT COOK YOUR FOOD WITH IT LOCKED! You can use it without it locked though.
