All about the book, Disco Fried:
In "Disco Fried," best friends Mina Baron and Jill Stone are desperate to get out of New York. Both are running from their own anxieties. Mina is a former singer who has just been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. She is dodging calls from a European clinical drug trial and obsessing over her changing appearance. Jill, meanwhile, is a writer trying to sell her latest pilot.
The two decide that a girls' weekend in the fabulous city of Montreal, Canada, is exactly what they need. During one magical three-day stint of barhopping, surprise encounters with old acquaintances, and some very tasty poutine, the two women will confront their true fears and find a way through them, together.
In the city, Jill has a surprise meeting with an old flame, and Mina clicks with a dashing businessman. The two women will have to decide what is worth fighting for in their lives. The answer will surprise them both.
