Are you looking for a fun railroad to go to with your kids?
Our family just loves going to Strasburg Railroad when we are in Ronks, PA which is not far at all from Lancaster County. We went in 2012, 2015, and now in July 2017! It's a lot of fun for both kids and adults to go to. It's a very family friendly place to spend a whole day at!
We rode Coach which is $15 per ticket for ages 17 and older, and $8 for kids 2 and older. I love riding the train and being talked to by the conductor about the Amish country, what they plant, the animals they have, and more. You have the opportunity to stop and have a picnic and be picked up by the next train, if you choose to with your family or yourself. You can find their operating schedule HERE!
The Amish country that you see on your 45 minute train ride is very pretty and well taken care of too. You may even see some of the Amish family or families outdoors in the field or on their horse and buggy.
That's my favorite part of seeing Amish is the horse and buggy, it's neat.
One of our favorite things to do after our train ride is head to the Trackside Cafe. They have really good ice cream, fresh fruit smoothies, meals, and drinks. We got the ice cream, smoothies, and soda / juice this time while there. Everyone really enjoyed the day there at Strasburg Railroad, at the gift shop there, as well as the cafe.
